The Situation
As a growing not-for-profit organization aimed at serving those who are in need, Lutheran Social Ministries (LSM) found that their recruiting agencies were repeatedly presenting them with the same candidates. In order to continue their positive work in providing healthcare, affordable housing, and disaster relief, LSM wanted to tap into new talent pools, but they didn’t want to be burdened by the lengthy process of interviewing, vetting, and negotiating contracts with new recruiting agencies. Krista Jacobs, Vice President of Human Resources at LSM, sought to expand the Lutheran Social Ministries brand into these untapped markets of candidates, but had neither the time nor the capacity on her talent acquisition team to do so.
