The Challenge In Recruiting
We have all heard of the "resume black hole," where a candidate applies to a company, but never hears back. In fact, a 2013 study by the Candidate Experience Awards showed that 51% of rejected candidates never hear back from a company. Of the 49% that did, most of them got a generic, impersonal notification from an automated email rather than helpful and specific feedback.
This is not only terrible for your employment brand, it’s bad for your overall brand. Candidates are also potential customers, and numerous studies have shown that candidates who feel mistreated are less likely to buy from your company in the future.
The problem is that most sourcing platforms emphasize volume over value, which is why you end up with impersonal, automated rejections. It’s impossible to find the time to personally respond to the hundreds of unqualified candidates you get through traditional means of recruiting.
Every company wants to improve their candidate experience, but the current methods of recruiting make that a challenge.
